26 October 2007 : One of our instrument designs shown on BBC News The MicroBio MB2 instrument used for the collection and analysis or airborne micro-organisms appears on BBC National TV News programmes. It is being used to evaluate the airborne spread of hospital super-bugs, such as MRSA, within ward environments in one of the largest lab facilities of it kind in the world at the University of Bradford. 12 June 2008 : ISO9001:2000 Awarded with no citations The staff of Cantium Scientific Limited are pleased to announce that following an external audit of our quality management systems by QAS International Ltd, we were awarded the ISO9001:2000 registration certificate for another year—WITH NO CITATIONS! It was the first time in his career for the external auditor to award registration without having any points to raise! This has been the result of much hard work from the Cantium team over the past year to keep things running smoothly and for continuous improvement of the system. |

29 August 2008 : Plans for online shop for scientific instruments The Directors of Cantium Scientific Limited today announced plans to begin retailing scientific instruments through an internet shop to be developed over the coming months, with the aim to have it up and running before Christmas 2008. This will provide an outlet for instruments and systems designed and developed by Cantium Scientific to be sold directly with payments accepted by credit card or purchase orders from account holders. The site will be directly accessible from the home page. The shop will start by selling products jointly developed with F W Parrett Ltd. |

24 September 2008 : Welcome to our new member of staff — Fay Curd Fay will be joining us on the 1st October 2008, taking on the role of QMS Auditor. Fay will be responsible for running our new department in offering services to implement Quality Management Systems for our clients to ISO9001 standards, and providing the service of an ‘in-house’ Quality Manager to them.
